Today on #WeddingWednesday we got into the Halloween spirit with a fun discussion of spooky ideas for couples costumes, a Fall cocktail and a fun Fall DIY. Today’s ideas took trends from the past years and put a new spin on them.
Signature Cocktail: Apple Cider Moscow Mule
The traditional Moscow Mule has been really popular for a few years, but this new spin is a perfect signature drink at a Fall wedding or celebration (or really, any time of year!).
Ingredients:
1 Vodka(2 parts)
2 Ginger Beer(1 part)
3 Lime(squeeze and for garnish)
4 Apple Cider(1 part)
Directions:
1 Mix all ingredients
2 Serve over ice
3 CHEERS
A few notes on this cocktail: It makes a delicious mocktail (nonalcoholic), just omit the vodka. If serving at a big event, mix all ingredients EXCEPT ginger beer ahead of time. The ginger beer will go flat and the drink will lose is its fizz, add the ginger beer to each drink as they are served.
Wedding DIY: Popcorn Bar
This week we strayed from our usual crafty DIY and to something more delicious! Similar to our signature drink, this weeks DIY is a new spin on the trendy. You’ve seen the popular Candy Buffet at weddings and parties. How about a Popcorn Buffet! The idea is the same, provide your guests with a yummy treat that doubles as a thank you/favor.
Supplies:
1 Popcorn
2 Treats, candy, chocolate, savory things like nuts
3 Basket for popcorn
4 Scoops
5 Jars, cute containers for the treats
6 Take out boxes, bags
7 Sticker, stamps or tags
Instructions:
1 Create tags or stickers for your bags or boxes in line with your wedding stationary or theme.
2 Set your buffet table with the popcorn, jars of treats, scoops, etc.
3 Invite guests to fill ’em up!
