#WeddingWednesday ep 12

#WeddingWednesday ep 12. Spring inspired lemon drops and DIY mini champagne favors.

Happy Wednesday!  What a great episode we had this week. Our hosts both spent a week out of town and brought some fun ideas inspired by their travels.  Our signature cocktail, a fresh take on the lemon drop, will have you craving spring! And our DIY is a double cost-saving idea.

Both Sara & Caitie spent time out of town last week, and had some fun experiences to share with viewers. Caitie spent a week in Darby, Montana and shared the story of Bandit Brewery (on instagram  @jc,bandit beer). While Sara was in Scottsdale she found herself partying in a western-themed event space.  This made us think about how fun it is to incorporate those things that help define you as a couple into your wedding venues. Like local beer? Find a small brewery with a cool backstory to provide the beer and help publicize for them.  Enjoy country music?  Why not find a venue that reflects that?

Signature Cocktail: Raspberry Lemon Drop

This is such a gorgeous and festive cocktail for any spring event.  It is a refreshing spin on the traditional lemon drop. We picture this cocktail at a bridal shower — or as a signature cocktail at a spring wedding.

  1. Raspberries
  2. Lemon
  3. Sugar
  4. Vodka

  1. Muddle lemon, raspberries and sugar
  2. Add with vodka and ice to a shaker and shake
  3. Pour into martini glass
  4. Garnish

DIY: Mini Champagne Bottle Favors that Doubles as Escort Card

DIY Mini Champagne Escort Card/Favor

Our DIY this year is not only SO cute but really affordable and serves two purposes. These cute favors double as a an escort card!  What a darling way to show people to their seats, with a fun and useful favor…who doesn’t love a little bubbly!

  1. Mini champagne bottles ( I bought these Korbel bottles in a four pack for $13.99 at Beverages and More)
  2. Tags, I used wooden ones from the Target dollar bin but you could use printables, burlap, there are so many options.
  3. Stamps, stickers, markers, stencils

  1. Create your tag using your choice of tag, I used stamps for lettering but you could have them printed, uses stickers or stencils
  2. Attach to bottle
