San Diego is at the top of our list for domestic honeymoons. Full of great restaurants, beautiful beaches, and cant-miss landmarks, you won’t get bored in this city! Bask in the sunshine on their breath-taking beaches that loungers and surfers alike can’t stay away from— Coronado Island and La Jolla beaches are our favorites. Spend the day taking a stroll and shopping in the historical Gaslamp District, complete with cobblestone roads. And one thing you definitely need to have on your list — the infamous San Diego Zoo. Experience it all with our honeymoon-at-home date night complete with music, virtual tours, and all the items you need to bring San Diego to you.

San Diego Date Night: Food & Drinks

The food in San Diego has many cultural influences. California is a melting pot in and of itself. Because of this, you can find just about anything to eat, from traditional Mexican, to Italian, American, and everything in between.

One of the best dishes you can sink your teeth into is carne asada, often featured in the iconic California Burrito!

San Diego Date Night: Step-by-Step Instructions

Here’s a sure-fire guide to pulling off a date night to remember:

Week before: Order supplies from our Date Night at Home San Diego shopping list on Amazon.

Day before: Shop for food/drinks ingredients

Day of:

5 pm: Set the mood by lighting your San Diego candle, getting your playlist or a Padres game and start decorating.

5:30 pm: Let’s get cooking! Have one person tackle the carne asada while the other preps all of the other ingredients.

6 pm: Get dressed in your favorite warm-weather out. When it’s always 75 and sunny, shorts, sandals, and sunnies are a must!

6:15 pm: Time to start sipping on those San Diego Sunrises or your Ballast Point brew.

6:45 pm: Assemble your Cali burritos and dig in! While you eat, quiz each other on some fun San Diego trivia.

8:00 pm: Finish watching the Padres game and then get ready to virtually explore San Diego. Take a virtual tour of the USS Midway, observe animals at the the zoo, or learn about some of the city’s best restaurants so you’ll have some places in mind if you ever visit (links above).
