Honeyfund's Favorite Cash Back Credit Cards

Cash back cards return a percentage of purchases as rewards (often as statement credits). You can keep things simple with a flat-rate card or mix in category cards for groceries, dining, or entertainment. Terms and offers change; always review the issuer’s current details before applying. If your credit is rebuilding, start with options designed for that profile and pay on time to graduate into stronger cash back cards later.

Honeyfund has partnered with CardRatings for our coverage of credit card products. Honeyfund and CardRatings may receive a commission from card issuers. Opinions, reviews, analyses and recommendations are the author’s alone, and have not been reviewed, endorsed or approved by any of these entities. Terms and Conditions apply. For American Express offers, Terms apply. Honeyfund may earn compensation when a customer clicks on a link, when an application is approved, or when an account is opened.

Tap a card name in the table to jump to its tile. We’ve ordered these roughly from more accessible profiles to more premium; approval always depends on your full credit profile.

How Cash Back works

When you pay with a cash back card, you earn a percentage back on eligible purchases (for example, 1.5% on everything, or higher percentages in select categories). Rewards usually post to your account statement and can often be redeemed as a statement credit; some issuers also allow direct deposit or gift cards. If the card carries an intro 0% APR on purchases, interest won’t accrue during the intro window—but you must make at least the minimum payment by each due date and pay the balance before the promo ends to avoid interest at the regular APR.

Using Honeyfund with a cash back card

Charge wedding or honeymoon expenses to the card that best fits your category (flat-rate for simplicity, or a category card for groceries/dining/entertainment). Then apply your Honeyfund cash gifts toward your monthly payments—ideally before your statement due date—so you earn rewards on the purchase while minimizing (or avoiding) interest. Keep receipts, enable payment alerts, and review each card’s terms/benefits (such as purchase protection) before relying on them.

How to check your credit score

  • Bank & card apps: Many issuers show your FICO® or VantageScore® for free.
  • Monitoring tools: Reputable services can track changes and alerts.
  • Annual reports: Get free reports at AnnualCreditReport.com. Reviewing reports won’t hurt your score.
  • Build faster: Pay on time, keep balances low vs. limits (utilization), avoid unnecessary hard inquiries, and keep older accounts open when it makes sense.
