Family and Friends,

We especially love and miss you during these tumultuous times. Our deepest sympathy and love go out to so many directly impacted by COVID-19.

Both Jared and I (for those who don’t know the “Nick” we know and love goes by Jared to his family and childhood friends) feel lucky to be able to help people during these times: Jared at the Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center and myself at Leaders in Training. We are lucky to have the positional privilege to be employed and even more importantly to be of service to our communities.

As you know, Jared and I most share the value of connectivity and inclusivity. We both believe all people are inherently worthy, good and need and must be included to find their voice and place to make a difference in this world. This foundation to our love and relationship only exists because of your influence, support and continued love in so many and varied ways. Thank you for being part of our journey.

In the spirit of helping to fuel optimism in such a time that needs it we’ve made the decision together to have a ceremony this Saturday on zoom!

We are not pregnant and prior to COVID-19, Jared did ask my parents for permission and we picked out a lab diamond ring being especially made for our announcement. At nearly 34, Jared really knew me well enough to know we would plan this together. I love him for it.

So it’s been on our minds as much as trying our best to bring joy and positivity to those around us. We woke up this morning April 19, 2020 and decided an impactful way to bring joy to all those we love would be to bring them together for a positive connectivity and inclusivity experience. So save the date THIS Saturday April 25, 2020 at 4:00 PST//7:00pm EST to watch and be part of Erica V. Mosca & Nicholas Jared Smith becoming #smosca. 4-4:30pm: Welcome address, zoom logistics, opening & words from the

mothers

4:30-4:45pm: Ceremony

4:45-5:30pm: Virtual Happy Hour & Reception

Jump off the call after the ceremony if you want OR stay on for

an assigned small group breakout session to eat, drink and be

merry. The couple will crash each breakout group to say hello

and take a picture (just like in real life but virtually).

Please note, shelter in place of course includes the Clark County Marriage License Bureau (which we believe in and understand). Our actual marriage license application is pending due to COVID-19 and Saturday, therefore, is officially a commitment ceremony and not a legal marriage. By having our ceremony now with you, we feel comfortable becoming legally married as soon as the shelter in place order is lifted. Meaning if Jared PCSs (permanent change of station) to Erica wants to shop at the commissary on the base, we will finally be able to. PLUS (as many of you are saying in your head right now) this is the way EVERYONE can actually be invited AND attend 😊.

Finally, YES there will be a real party in Las Vegas spring 2021 to celebrate a year after. We can’t wait to see you then to hug you, kiss you and not have to worry about toilet paper together. Also can’t wait for many of you to finally check out the Mesquite Ave. house (we’ve lived together since August, we know we can handle this). Love you and thank you for all that you do for us and so many around you. Both of us, Collin and my parents are excited to see you from Las Vegas on Saturday April 25, 2020. One for the books!
