Greetings!
As many of you know, Eric is taking part in a global surgery fellowship that gives him the opportunity to work with Operation Smile and do surgery across the world. He has been tasked with concentrating his efforts in Vietnam. He has taken many trips to Vietnam the last 8 months and it's about time I (Sarah) go with him. Our relationship is really solidified by both of our want and need to serve others. I'm so proud of the work he does and can't wait to be a part of it.
The 30th anniversary of Operation Smile working in Vietnam coincidentally is about two weeks after our wedding. During this time there will be a large cleft lip and palate mission going on and WE ARE GOING :) I can't wait to witness the magic of smiles returning to the faces of cleft patients and their families...what a gift it will be to me.
Our other shared passion is scuba diving. We were certified together in Belize and have been addicted to life under the sea ever since. After the mission, we are heading to the Seychelles, an island in the Indian Ocean where we are REALLY hoping to see sharks, sea turtles, and any other ocean critters.
