Hello friends and family,

We are honored you will share in our special day with us, and thank you for visiting our Honeyfund page! While we were originally intending to use this page to raise money for a one-year anniversary trip to Europe, as luck would have it, life had a little something different in mind.

In January, we learned about new controlled price unit condominiums being built in Playa Vista - geared towards community serving officials like teachers (which we are), who work within 5 miles of Playa Vista (which we do), who make under a certain amount of money (which we do) and are first time homeowners (which we are). Given the uncanny fit we were for these units, we placed ourselves on the interest list right when it went live at the end of February.

Within a few weeks, we found out that we were high enough on the list to move forward with submitting paperwork through their lender. On St. Patrick's Day, we learned we were officially pre-qualified to purchase the condo, and started the formal approval process to purchase our own home through the lender! Then, just before we headed out of town to attend another Coachella together, we placed our deposit down and picked our unit! We are set to move in around October/November and in the meantime, we have been signing loads of paperwork. :)

We are beyond excited about this opportunity - but as we all know - these things are never simple and they are never cheap. So, more than a physical gift or a gift card, we would much prefer your loving donations go towards helping us save money for our down payment and the myriad of costs that will come with buying and furnishing our own condo.

We feel blessed that 2017 has not only given us a wedding to look forward to, but now also the bonus of becoming homeowners! We thank you for your love, support and generosity in making 2017 the best year yet for the Rod Squad!
