Well, at least the mountains part is true. And...maybe the book--who knows! What we do know is that we would love to take a trip to New Zealand to visit some of the filming locations of The Lord of the Rings and discover some of the beautiful natural wonders boasted by the island.
We don't have all of the details worked out, but we do plan to fly into Auckland and rent a car. From there, we'll drive to Matamata to see the Hobbiton set and stay nearby. We'll also be visiting Tauranga, where there are several hot springs and spas, and we'll be hiking in the vast Kaimai-Mamakū Forest Park.
