More Information:
Family & Friends,
Thank you for visiting our site! We know how crazy things are right now, but we want to let you know that we still plan on getting married on June 6th. In case it turns out that we are unable to do so, we will postpone until the end of June if possible.
You may be feeling uncertain about an event like this at the moment, so we thought we'd share some additional details to help you determine whether or not you'd feel comfortable coming. We'd love for you to be there, but completely understand if it isn't something you feel is a good idea for you and your family. For those of you who can't come, we are working on a way to live stream the ceremony so that you can still be a part of it.
Our wedding will be held entirely outside at Casey's parent's home and there will be a tent if rain is in the forecast. The backyard is large and we'll set up tables in a way that everyone has plenty of space. We also ordered a couple extra tables so that there are less people at each table. We'll start with a cocktail hour followed by the ceremony, dinner, and dessert. We expect max 45 guests, the majority of them from the New Richmond area as well as several from Oklahoma.
For those of you coming from outside of the New Richmond area, thank you for making the trip! Below is some information that might be helpful to you. Please let either one of us know if you need any help or have any questions!
Travel
If you decide to fly, the closest airport is the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport (MSP). Delta offers direct flights from OKC to MSP. The airport is about a 50 minute drive from New Richmond. Otherwise, it is about a 12 hour drive from Oklahoma City.
Location
New Richmond is a small town in Wisconsin, just across the border from Minnesota. The natural boundary between Wisconsin and Minnesota is the St. Croix River.
Recommendations
We recommend that while you're here, you visit Stillwater, MN (where Casey was born) and Hudson, WI. Both are about a 30 minute drive from New Richmond and sit right on the St. Croix River. They are really cool towns with good restaurants, views, and historic houses. When we lived in Minnesota we loved visiting both towns to walk along the river and try new restaurants.
In addition to Stillwater and Hudson, we really love the lakes, restaurants, rooftops, bars, and walks along the Mississippi River that you can find in Minneapolis, MN.
We also strongly encourage you to make the 2.5 hour drive north to see Lake Superior. Duluth, MN is a popular destination for those wanting to experience one of the Great Lakes.
Weather
Highs at the beginning of June in Wisconsin are typically in the 70's and can get down into the 50's at night. It can also be hotter or colder than that, so we'd suggest checking the weather as we get closer to the date!
