Matt and Katy have almost completely opposite tastes when it comes to travel destinations. The only thing they can definitely agree on is they love museums (especially zoos) and exploring local art. Matt loves the snowy cold. His dream vacation is going to an isolated wolf refuge in rural Norway where you can cuddle with all the rescued wolves and cubs! Katy didn't *hate* that idea, but she would certainly prefer something else. Bodies of water are like a magnet for Katy. She loves doing almost anything that involves tropical, crystal blue water. She especially appreciates swim-up bars and slow, boozy kayaking trips. At first, it felt like they'd never be able to agree on where they'd go, if it turned out they could even afford it. Then one day, Katy remembered hearing about something called the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. It's a naturally occurring geothermal lake that's about 45 minutes outside of the capitol city, Reykjavík. The water is so clear and bright blue, it doesn't even look like a lake at all. It also happens that Iceland is a pretty chilly place, which is perfect for Matt. They decided immediately this is where they wanted to go someday.

But . . . they were only dreaming. They knew that after a wedding, they wouldn't be able to afford anything like that. Katy hadn't even given a gift registry a single thought yet. They already have everything that's usually found on traditional registries, like Katy's pastel pink KitchenAid and Matt's ever-growing collection of guitar and speaker parts that drives Katy insane.
