Hello friends and family,

Thank you so much for being part of our lives and our story!

We met leading a dance team on a trip to Lebanon together putting on an art camp for Lebanese kids and Syrian refugees.

What started out as a deep friendship would over a year later turn into more than friends. Nathaniel would eventually muster up the courage to ask Shauna out on a date which turned into a 2nd, a 3rd and several more dates.

Nathaniel began to make plans for the perfect proposal. He designed and purchased the perfect engagement ring. However, it wasn't long before those plans came to a screeching halt as the world entered into a global pandemic.

Disheartened but not defeated the encouragement of a close friend would remind Nathaniel that times of high challenge call for high creativity. That chaos is the perfect context for beauty to thrive.

Scheming commenced and a small group of rebels crafted the perfect proposal. A fake video documentary called "The Surprise of Love" filmed in the historical Rialto Theater in South Pasadena (featured in La La Land) where Nathaniel and Shauna first officially became a couple. Shauna would star as an interviewee in the documentary. Nathaniel would "fly out of the country" that weekend to give no suspicion of his presence. There would be a camera crew, lights, make up.

The day arrived - Nathaniel hid in the balcony attached to a rope while Shauna was on stage being interviewed. Suddenly, the lights went out, "My Shot" from Hamilton started blaring over the speakers. Nathaniel rush to the edge of the balcony, jumped over and belayed to the ground. The lights and music changed to the Isley Brothers, ring in hand Nathaniel approached Shauna on the stage. Shauna freaked out screaming at everyone, screaming at Nathaniel and hitting him. He got down on one knee. "Shauna, will you Marry Me?". She said YES.

We are so grateful to have you in our lives. It goes without saying the last year has been a crazy one. If there is any title for 2020 it would be 'Beauty and Pain'. No matter your 2020, we hope your future is filled with hope and love.
