Greetings!
Hello, friends and family!
First of all, we're honored you've chosen to share our day with us. We appreciate your presence or other expression of congratulations. Thank you!
Although we look forward to our wedding day, our excitement comes from what the day signifies: declaring to God and each other that we commit our lives to one another as husband and wife.
A little about us...
Cory, a Hickman, Ky., boy, drove through his first stoplight when he moved to Bowling Green, Ky., to attend Western Kentucky University in pursuit of a broadcasting degree. Since then, Cory has traveled to all 120 Kentucky counties (twice), lending his voice and personality to numerous media outlets in promotion of the overlooked gems of the state he loves. It was while discussing this venture - Map Dot, Kentucky - that Cory met Monica, a reporter for the Bowling Green Daily News at the time.
Monica, born and raised in Paducah, Ky., graduated from WKU with a degree in journalism. She minored in creative writing, and recently had her first two short stories published. While many of her friends longed to get out of Kentucky, Monica had no desire to leave her old Kentucky home. That state pride (and "Slingblade" quotes) helped solidify what would become a lifelong bond with Cory.
Your love for us and well wishes are the best gifts we could receive, so please do not feel obligated to get us anything else. If you wish to, you should know that we're both fortunate to already have several necessary household items, so our wedding gift registry with Bed, Bath & Beyond is minimal. Something we don't have, however, is a honeymoon and home improvements for our new house. The gift of making memories and spending precious time together as newlyweds is a gift from you that will always match the tile and fit on the counter top. Feel free to browse the honeymoon wishlist and registry linked below.
Again, we can't thank you enough (though we'll try) for your text messages, Facebook comments or good old-fashioned hugs as we've taken this next step together. God has blessed us in bringing us and our families together, and we hope that He has used us and will use us to bless you, our loved ones.
Thanks for visiting, and we can't wait to see you on our big day!
Love,
Cory and Monica
