Greetings!
Natasha had just returned to Canada after six years working in Akron, Ohio. Michael was likely doing something stupid, like contemplating how a sloth clapping would almost certainly sound sarcastic. But then one fateful November evening Michael caught a glimpse of Natasha on a friend’s phone as they scrolled through their Instagram feed. The words ”she’s cute… tell her that a friend of yours is about to message her” escaped Michael’s lips without hesitation - a risky move he had never once tried it before. Alas, Natasha cautiously agreed to converse. Cue just a few days of playful digital banter and a first date was quickly agreed upon, exactly one week before Christmas Eve. The stage was set for our future-lovers’ first meeting: Toronto’s famous Holiday Fair in the Square. Walking hand-in-hand through gentle flurries of snowflakes they sipped on mulled wine and admired an endless supply of twinkling lights. Strolling through bustling rosey-nosed crowds braving the crisp December air, Michael and Natasha did not share a single shiver… for they had just found all the warmth they would ever need.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Natasha and Michael moved in together (another first for Michael) and began their commitment lives within the cramped pleasures of a basement apartment. A psychotic housemate, a few police calls, and a global pandemic provided them the motivation to find their own place to call home. In April of 2020 - in the very heart of Canada’s first fearful stages of the pandemic - they moved into their first family home.
Two weeks later, in place of the Disneyland/NASA touring trip that was planned for Natasha’s birthday, Michael got down on one knee and proposed. To which Natasha gaspingly relied: “Are you sure?”
He was.
A date was set. The pandemic continued. The house was flooded. Insurance claims were denied. Jobs were lost. Renovations were botched... and yet, their solace was continually found within each other. Suffering these trails and tribulations together ultimately served to strengthen their bond, solidifying their awareness that this team the had chosen to navigate the obstacle course of life was indeed drafted correctly.
They now attempt to plan for and host a wedding that may or may not be forced to postpone - but only a month prior to the date as per their venue’s rules. But no matter what happens one thing is for sure: these lovebirds are getting the hell out of Canada and celebrating their love the first chance they get to do so legally and safely.
If you wish to contribute to Natasha and Michael’s honeymoon fund, you will be helping to achieve Natasha’s travel dream of sleeping in a floating hut atop the crystal waters of Bora Bora and Michael’s dream of re-enacting the entirety of Tom Hanks’ Castaway.
Love, escape, screaming at bloody volleyballs... the perfect honeymoon.
Help this couple achieve that honeymoon, whenever that may happen.
Xoxo
