OUR STORY:

Rachel is teaching at Child Development Center on the Navy Base in Port Hueneme. She has recently graduated from Cal Lutheran with her BA in Psychology and is excited for what opportunities may arise.

Abel works for E.J. Harrison as a driver. He has 3 kids. Izaya, 14, is 6’1 and a great athlete. Jacob, 11, is interested in football and basketball and very knowledgeable when it comes to professional sports teams and players. Audrina, 9, is a beast on the softball field and the baby of the family (for now).

Rachel and Abel first met about 10 years ago at a friend’s house down the street from the Olson’s family residence. Abel asked if he could walk Rachel home and she agreed but she stopped him at the corner of the cul-de-sac and told him, “That’s good enough” and ran the rest of the way. This was something that would stick out in Abel’s memory for years to come.

Rachel and Abel saw each other again about 4 years ago. They became acquaintances and then friends as they started to work out and go hiking together. After a few months of hiking, a relationship ensued. In the past years, Rachel and Abel have fallen deeply in love. Rachel not only loves Abel but his children as well and treats them as if they were her own.

On January 13th, which was the day Rachel’s Olson Grandparents were married, Abel took Rachel on a hike up to the cross in Ventura. He told her that he loved her and that he wanted her to be his wife. She said yes.
