Welcome foolish mortals, to the wedding of Elias Marrero and Jillian Sohrweide.
Just like us, our wedding is not traditional, very unique, and just a little spooky. Feel free to come dressed in Halloween, Gothic, or Victorian attire and prepare for a swinging wake.
Our wedding will be taking place at the beautiful outdoor venue The High Sierra Iris and Wedding Gardens. Which is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Apple Hill. We highly suggest, if you have time before our wedding, that you partake in some of the amazing food, views, and activities Apple Hill has to offer. It will be Halloween season however, so plan ahead to make sure you don't get stuck in the seasonal crowds.
When you arrive at our venue, you will be guided by an attendant to where you need to park. There will be a short walk to the venue from the parking space. If you need to be dropped off closer to the venue there is a drop off area, but no guests will be allowed to park in that spot, as it is reserved for the bride and groom and their wedding vendors. Also, we will have a cutoff time for people to arrive so that our ceremony will not be interrupted. So, please try to be on time (ceremony starts @ 4pm), or you will be held at the gate until our ceremony is over.
If you wish to make an offering to the Halloween spirits in attendance at our special day, feel free to bring your favorite wine or beer to our bartender. We will have a selection of beer and wine already available, but variety is the spice of life, and we can’t wait to see what you may bring to the table.
The venue has a large pond on site, and our wedding will be a creepy, kooky, and PG-13 event, so we kindly ask that no children be in attendance. We want our guests to be having fun, and not worrying about their children falling into a pond or being spirited off into the woods.
We would like to assure all of our guests that we are taking the current pandemic very seriously and are making everyone’s safety a priority.
We have cut our guest count down to 50 people, and this entire event will be outside with a lot of space to social distance. We will also be providing masks and hand sanitizer for each of you.
If you are feeling ill, have recently been in contact with someone who has/may have contracted Covid-19, or have a temperature above 100.4˚F, please do not attend. We will miss you, but we will understand and see you next Halloween. We had to be very strict on allowing plus ones. Only those whose names are on the invitation are allowed to attend.
