East African Adventure

In December, we'll be heading off on an adventure of a lifetime in East Africa.

We'll start by flying to Nairobi, Kenya - the starting point of our tours. After a brief stop in the cosmopolitan heart of East Africa, we'll head down to the Masai Mara game reserve. We'll spend several days on game drives, hopefully seeing all the incredible wildlife of the savannah plains.

After our game safari, we'll be leaving Kenya and hopping across the border to Uganda. Here, we'll be visiting several national parks -- Bwindi and Kibale -- on the trail of great apes. In Bwindi Impenetrable forest, we will be trekking through the cloud forest to find families of gorillas - on Christmas Day!! Whilst we've had memorable Christmasses before, I think having lunch with a pack of gorillas is going to be hard to ever beat... Then after transiting to Kibale, we will trek through mountains to sit with chimpanzee groups in their jungle home. It's sure it be a magical and emotional few days!

After Uganda, we will be flying to Dar Es Salaam, the capital of Tanzania. We'll have a brief stopover in this bustling, vibrant city, before getting on a seaplane to Mafia Island -- a tiny paradise in the Indian ocean. Here, we will spend almost a week diving in the crystal clear waters and shallow reefs. If we're lucky, we might even see the whale sharks migration.

There's no doubt that this is going to be an adventure of a lifetime, with so many precious memories made... and the most incredible start to our married life.
