OUR STORY

We met in Baumholder, Germany in the fall of 2018. At the time, we both happened to be looking to make friends who'd want to travel and explore Europe.... who would've thought that would lead to finding everlasting love. From the moment we met, everything felt right- like we knew each other before. We took our first trip together as friends, two weeks after meeting. We road tripped four hours (one way) to Bruge, Belgium. Most people would shy away from spending a full weekend with a relative stranger but NOT US! And it may have been one of the best decisions (crazy risk) we ever made. A four-day weekend and eight hours in the car- you learn a whole lot about a person.

After that trip, we couldn't help but to see each other just about everyday. We have never gone a day without at least talking to each other on the phone since that trip. We've since traveled to nine countries (Belgium, Morocco, Italy, France, United Kingdom, Iceland, The Netherlands, Greece, various cities in Germany and the great USA).

Melisa got orders to a military hospital in Hawaii with a Spring 2019 move. Without hesitation, Garret reassured her that he would follow her to Hawaii to keep the relationship thriving. True to his word, less than three months after she left Germany, he packed up his belongings and moved to Hawaii riding on pure hope and faith in their relationship.
