Greetings!
Hello dearest friends and family!
Sharing with you all a bit of our relationship's beginnings...
We started our long distance relationship (LDR) over two years ago when Tyson was living and working in Austin, Texas. We first met in October 2015 when Tyson flew to the Bay Area and spent our first few days together in San Francisco touring the City in a HOHO bus (a must-do whilst in SF), taking the trolley to the Fisherman’s Wharf, and sipping Irish coffees at Buena Vista Café. During the course of our LDR, we made a point to see each other once every other month or monthly if our schedule allows it. We decided to make our trips more special by visiting places we haven’t visited. Our meetings have taken us to various cities such as Monterey, Austin, Portland, San Antonio, and Las Vegas. We spent Thanksgiving with Tyson’s family in 2016 and that’s when Karla first met his family in person. We then drove from Kansas City, MO to Austin, TX stopping by Oklahoma City, OK for a quick visit. Last year we celebrated Karla’s 35th birthday in Europe and had a marvelous time visiting museums and eating food we’ve never had or even heard of before. When we were apart, we called each other on Skype and leave the video call on overnight every night since he flew back to Austin after his first trip to visit me. The only times we didn’t do this was when I was visiting family in LA for a few days!
In June 2017, Tyson moved to the Bay Area (yay!) after accepting a job offer at a hotel near SFO. Aside from being totally in love (of course), we both want the same things and share the same outlook, beliefs, and ideas from the get-go so we were both very excited with this development as it solidified our relationship’s growth. Several months after Tyson’s move and after a lot of thinking And praying, we both decided to have a Civil ceremony so we can make our relationship a permanent one! We both fell in love with San Francisco City Hall when we passed by the place on our bus tour back in Oct 2015 that we knew we had to have our ceremony there. We exchanged our vows on Thursday, December 7th 2017 with both our parents present and a few of Karla’s cousins and continued our celebration in the evening aboard the Hornblower ship Silver Bells where we cruised along the San Francisco Bay. A few more of our close friends and family joined to celebrate with us as well.
Thank you for taking the time to read this brief history about our love story. We have a few photos posted here of our trips and times we’ve spent together since the beginning and also of the wedding. As you can tell, we LOVE to travel so we’ve created a wish list for our Honeymoon that we plan to have in December 2018 while we celebrate our first year anniversary as an adorable married couple
