Pisa is approximately 1 hour by car from Volterra, so is the closest airport, however Florence is around 1.5 hours by car from Volterra, so is also an option.
Car rental can be organised from either airport, although please let us know if you need help getting to the location after your flight.
Volterra is an ancient Italian city in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, so we know you'll have an amazing time exploring this beautiful place! There is a festival on the same weekend as the wedding, so if you're wanting to book taxis/places to eat then we advise you do so as early as you can!
On the day of the wedding, please arrive at the Museo Civico by 2.45pm as the ceremony will start at 3pm. We will organise transportation from the ceremony to the reception where we will head back for food, drinking and partying!!
Make sure you dress for the weather! Although the wedding is later in the day, it will still be very warm, so there is no judgement for men not wearing jackets! Ladies we will be on grassy surfaces a lot, so bear in mind for footwear choices, and please all feel free to bring to spare changes of clothes/swimwear if you fancy a dip in the afternoon at the reception.
Shuttle buses will run between 1am-3am to take you back to Volterra and the hotels (San Lino, Le Fonti, Borgo), so if you've arranged your own accommodation you may need to organise taxis from Volterra to take you to your villas/Air BnBs etc. Let us know if this is the case and we can help you :)
The day after the wedding (Sunday 18th), we are hosting a Pizza Pool Party back at the main venue (Country Relais & Spa Le Capanne). Everyone is invited, so please come and join us to relax, eat, drink and swim! There is plenty of parking at the villa, however if you'd like to organise taxis please do so ASAP to ensure availability! Let us know if you have any issues in getting there and we will help where we can.
