For the first time in a looong time (maybe EVER), we will be aiming to get away for a full two-weeks of honeymoon. With cycling being one of our earliest shared passions, we agreed that the start of our new life as husband and wife should continue that journey.
At the START line of our marriage, we are planning to take this time to explore the sights, smells, tastes, and culture of the Tuscan region of Italy by bike and continue our second week of exploration along the Amalfi Coast.
The first week will offer an all inclusive much more intimate experience in the heart of Italy at a much slower pace. Riding around the large beautiful Lake Garda is relatively moderate with spectacular scenery all around. There is a perfect blend of valley riding through vineyards and farm land, along with long winding climbs into the surrounding hills.
The second week remains an open book with possibilities including a visit to Sardinia and/or working our way north to the south of France or south to the Amalfi Coast. If there there is wine, we will be happy. If there is bread and cheese, I'm sure our smiles (and waists) will continue to grow!
