We’ve been together quite awhile,

With all our pots and pans.

And as we don’t need homely gifts,

We have another plan.

Some know our story,

others may not.

Unfortunately infertility will be our next battle,

Soon after we tie the knot.

We know it’s not traditional,

And not the way it’s done.

But rather than a wedding list,

We’d love a little one.

Some dream of big houses

Or shiny new cars,

Ours is to someday

Hold a baby that's ours.

Some dream of more money

To hoard and to keep,

Mine is to someday

Rock my baby to sleep.

Some dream of careers

In buildings so tall,

His is to someday

throw his kid a football.

So if you would like to give a gift,

It takes a village to raise a child,

we all know it to be true.

So when he or she is older and asks
