More Information:
With so many people coming from outside Colombia, we decided to get married in a very traditional Colombian finca, about 10 minutes outside of the city. The name is la Casa Campestre Montpellier en la finca la Lorena with a gorgeous view of Medellin.
Accommodations:
Please go ahead and book your rooms online. There is no room block for the wedding, so please book as soon as possible.
The hotel has an English option at the bottom.
Travel and Transportation:
Fly to Medellin/Rio Negro. The airport code for Medellin is MDE. You will always have to make one stop to get here, whether its through Miami or direct to through Panama City and then to Medellín.
You can find great deals if you book Copa, Avianca, or American Airlines.
UPON ARRIVAL:
Once you land, you'll hop into one of the airport taxis (its safe, but get an official white one) and they'll take you straight to the hotel. It will be about a 45 minute drive and cost around COP 65.000 (no tipping required). The taxi driver should know the name of your hotel.
**We are hoping to provide everyone with transportation to and from the airport. Once your flight is reserved, please send us your itinerary.**
Travel Within Medellin
GETTING AROUND THE CITY:
The weather will be about 75 degrees and Medellín is a very walkable city, with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shopping within walking distance of your hotel. However, if you need to take a taxi somewhere, the hotel will be glad to call you one, or you can use Easy Taxi or Uber.
RESTAURANTS/COFFEE SHOPS/SHOPPING:
There are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and shopping within walking distance of your hotel.
Things to Do
Medellin - Antioquia, Colombia
We hope that you will come a few days early to get a chance to know Medellín and a bit more about Colombia. For those that do, we will be arranging trips to see different sites within the city as well as a few day-trips to small towns outside of the city. We plan to stay from June 20- July 4. We are planning on flying to Cartagena, Colombia on Monday June 29 for those of you who would like to join us.
As we get closer to the date and know who is coming a few days early, we'll be updating this section with all the different options.
