Sure, we had those thoughts: Paris? San Sebastian? Florence?

Along with a few others: Laos? Chiang Mai? Hanoi?

All venerable destinations that we dream of visiting one day, without a doubt.

But, what brought us together? What have we bonded over that has brought both mutual appreciation and a yearning to delve deeper? What has encouraged us to take a step back, slow down, and savor the moment?

The simple answer: Bourbon! The greatest gift that America has to offer. Where better for us to experience this proverbial nectar of the gods than Kentucky -- a place both foreign and near? Trekking the Bourbon Trail would be quite a journey, one for which we have been preparing for some time.

We would also be remiss if we failed to recognize the significant impact that fine food has had in the growth of our relationship. So little of our own country have we traveled, and so much there is to experience! From Chicago, to New Orleans, we plan to partake in all the provisions to be provided by all the provinces we've yet to experience. From barbecue to fried chicken, from pizza to jambalaya, we hope to take in all that this stretch of land has to offer.
