Greetings!
We fell in love in the woods. We became best friends in the woods. We got married in the woods. Following a quick, private ceremony July 13th on Vashon Island in the Puget Sound, we jumped right into our honeymoon in the Pacific Northwest.
We ran away for the ceremony, but we're excited to share our joy and future with you. On Saturday, August 18th we're throwing a laid-back cook-out to celebrate our love at in the Kettle Moraine State Forest back in Wisconsin.

Truth be told, we're not "wedding people", but we still wanted to see y'all. We've rented a shelter and there will be running water and electricity, but please dress for the weather--possibly some outdoor recreation. No pets are allowed in the shelter.
The Picnic-
Expect a very casual summer cookout--not a wedding reception. The party starts at 2PM, and we'll roll out dinner around 5PM. The park closes at 9PM, so plan on saying your good-byes around 8PM so we have enough time to clean up. The meal will be gluten free--if you have other dietary restrictions, please let us know ASAP! We will have a taco bar and lots of picnic fare.
Park Admission-
If you don't have a State Park sticker, no worries. Let the attendant know you're here for Heidi's family cookout--We'll take care of your admission fee. Already have a WI state park sticker for 2018? Great--take that vehicle to get into the park.
Getting there, places to stay-
See the hotel info section for our accommodation suggestions. We did NOT book a block of hotel rooms, so please book your accommodations sooner rather than later. La Quinta Inn in Delafield is close to the venue and Heidi's grandmother's apartment.
The Trecker Lodge, where the cookout is taking place, is up near the homestead parking lot. If you've made it to the observation tower, you've gone too far (but definitely take time to climb the tower)!
