Greetings!
Hello family and friends!
Thank you so much for visiting our wedding website. Be sure to check out our registry below. We are delighted to have each and every one of you in our lives, and honored that you are participating in our wedding festivities.
The Universe happily brought us together in Madison while Cody was clerking at the Wisconsin Supreme Court and adopting senior dogs; Amanda was living her life as a scientist, drinking old fashioneds and hanging out with Remy and Kingsley. Now a landmark for our relationship, we first met each other at Genna's—a bar in Madison that we each claimed as our favorite place—and the principle site of the engagement pictures featured on our Save the Dates. We had four dates in one week, and the rest is history.
Cody moved to Omaha later that year, and Amanda soon followed in the coming months. Incapable of surprising each other, we separately planned to propose in almost the same exact way at the same exact time. Amanda commissioned a video consisting of photos and video clips we had compiled throughout our relationship. Cody had photos printed from the vintage film camera that Amanda had gifted to her. One Sunday night, Amanda drove the six hours to Omaha, planning to surprise Cody the following day by playing the video on a projector and then proposing. Knowing that Amanda was driving into town, Cody planned for them to casually flip through the deconstructed album together, with the very last shot reading “Will you marry me?”
Amanda arrived, immediately saw the pictures on the counter, and demanded to look at them posthaste. With her shoes still on and suitcase in the hallway, Amanda pored through the photos. Upon reaching the last picture, Cody said some nice words that Amanda either did not listen to or could not hear through her emotion. Realizing that she had been beaten to the punch, Amanda panicked and immediately left the room, taking her suitcase with her. Cody sat [im]patiently on the couch for what felt like an eternity. A few minutes later, Amanda emerged with her computer and played the video-compilation, finally ending with a proposal of her own. Long story still long, we both said yes. And that, my friends, is how you execute a simultaneous engagement.
We were married in a private, civil ceremony at City Hall in New York City on April 6, 2018.
On September 2, 2018, we will have a Marriage Blessing ceremony performed by Rev. Chase Wilhelm where we will exchange personal vows and celebrate our union with our loved ones. A brunch reception will follow complete with Bloody Mary and mimosa bars.
We are so honored that you will share this day with us! We are fortunate to already have a home full of everything we need, so please enjoy browsing this registry, where you can contribute to our dream honeymoon in Iceland. This site also includes details on things to do in Omaha and where to stay when you’re in town for our Marriage Blessing.
Thanks for visiting and we can't wait to see you on our big day!
