The Gulf

A very wavy trip across the salty gulf coast from Pensacola to New Orleans

Greetings!

Hello friends and family,

We are honored you will share in our special day. It means the world to us and that in itself is the only gift we need.

However, after being asked about a registry and toying with the idea - we realized that we don't really need or desire any material items. Instead, we thought it would be fun to create an online honeymoon registry where everyone has the ability to contribute to our trip. This way it's as if you are there with us! We plan on taking photos and videos throughout our journey to share with everyone involved.

A brief rundown of our honeymoon is as follows:

We plan to start by taking a plane from Knoxville, Tennessee down to Pensacola, Florida and spending a few days enjoying the solitude of the ocean and sightseeing around town. From there we will be renting a car to drive the coast all the way to Biloxi, Mississippi and spending another night there doing the same before finishing off the trip with a few nights stay in New Orleans, Louisiana for Halloween. As much as we would love to keep enjoying the local cuisine and cultures along the Gulf, this will be where we book our return flight back to Knoxville.

We do hope you'll enjoy this more thoughtful and exciting plan that we have and be a part of our travels along the way.

Until then, thank you for stopping by and we are looking forward to seeing you all at the wedding! Please don't hesitate to contact us with any and all questions you may have.

Much love,

Kaitlyn & Andrew

More Information:

Hello everyone!

With the wedding coming up slightly soon, there are some things we felt you all should know/have in writing so we don't forget to relay it in person.

First off, the ceremony (2PM): it will be a super short gathering on a big overlook named Lilly Bluff. (I'll attach all the addresses at the end of this message.) The platform is decently sized for the amount of people we have coming, but there isn't really any seating. So if you need a chair, let us know! We honestly won't be there for probably even 10 minutes LOL.

Also, the walk to the overlook is about a 3/10 mile gravel path. It's smooth enough for a wheelchair and pretty easy but just take that into account when picking footwear.

Also, this is not a white table cloth affair. WEAR WHATEVER MAKES YOU COMFORTABLE AND HAPPY. Whether that's jeans, your favorite bikini, or a 16 piece studio 54 tuxedo, do what you want.

Immediately following the ceremony, we will drive a little down the road to the Lilly Pad Brewery for the reception.

The reception is in a public space, but we have a private area sectioned off for us. This doesn't mean you can't mingle around wherever you want BUT it does mean you'll get a super fancy VIP wristband giving you access to our private things such as food, alcohol, etc.

The food being catered is BBQ with vegetarian/vegan options available to those who need it. AND if you are so inclined, the brewery has a food truck you can order from as well (but that is not covered by us.)

We will have a keg or two provided with beer type yet to be determined, but probably something light. Other options will be available for purchase at the brewery as well. A liquor bar will also be available/included.

At the beginning of the reception, we will do normal wedding/reception-y stuff in our own space (announcements, eating, etc.) but after that, there will be a band (Rossdafaraye) playing on the main brewery stage and most likely the Tennessee/Alabama game in the TV room area. To those who are not in TN, I'm mentioning that because it's a huge deal here. But we will let you all learn that when you arrive.

After the reception, you are obviously free to do whatever you please. But please remember that we are going to be far into the boonies. Camping is available for everyone who wants it, on the reception site (literally a short walk down the hill.) PLEASE do not drive or put yourself in an unsafe position when this is available to you. But of course it is at your discretion what choices are made. There is brunch being served at the food truck on Sunday morning, but it is not provided by us.

We (Andrew and Kaitlyn) will NOT be camping and will leave right after everyone checks out for the night. We have a long drive to Pensacola the next day. :) The brewery has showers if you do decide to camp, and awesome hiking/swimming/rock climbing areas all over the place. It really is a cool spot so I would definitely take advantage of it while you're in town!

Other things I already forgot:
Brewery is kid and dog friendly as long as they are leashed (I think only the dog is required to be leashed but do as you wish with your children. We won't judge.)

Much like the walk to the ceremony, it's an outdoor reception in the woods. Keep your footwear in mind.

It's an east Tennessee fall in the mountains. The weather is a gamble. Bring extra layers just in case you need them.

Priority is having a good time.

***If there is anything else we forgot or other things you'd like to ask: please do so!!! Whether it's on here or a private text/message works fine for us.

Thank you all and we can't wait!!!!

Location:
920 Ridge Rd, Lancing, TN 37770

Ceremony and reception are on this road. You'll pass the brewery first and head all the way up the hill to the ceremony trailhead. There are two big trail parking lots to use, and we will direct you from there. It is really easy to navigate. There aren't any other turns.
