Greetings!
Bonjour everyone :D We're look forward to sharing our wedding day with you...once we know when that day will be. Thanks to COVID-19, we've had to postpone our May bachelor/bachelorette parties, June stag & doe, and July wedding/honeymoon. Everything will be postponed to 2021. We are working on booking an official date.
Julia's bachelorette was supposed to be in a rented mansion just outside of Grand Bend (a nearby beach town) for May 24 weekend. She's always dreamed of doing this and had everything booked and ready to go.
Max's friends had a surprise bachelor party all set and ready to go.
We had booked our Stag & Doe at the Polish Hall for June 6th. Very beautiful venue with a stage. Live band PUCE was going to perform. It was beach-themed and the loudest Hawaiian shirt won a prize. The games we had prepared were super fun (roomba wars etc).
Julia had planned the greatest Sarnia wedding of all-time. She loves the beach and had planned to have chairs in the sand along with a beautiful hexagon arch overlooking Lake Huron to say our I-Do's. After the beach ceremony, we planned on taking everyone to the Duc D'Orleans || for a boat cruise on Lake Huron and the St. Clair River while rocking out to a live band and eating Sarnia's famous Giresi's Pizza (we were very excited to introduce the newbies to dill pickle pizza). After the boat cruise, our reception was only a 1-2 minute walk from the dock. The reception was going to have incredible food, desserts, live DJ, and a late night taco bar. Our wedding was booked for July 4th, 2020 and we were going to "steal" the American fireworks as the venue (Gateway Room) overlooks the river with Michigan on the other side. The venue was amazed at Julia's fireworks wedding plan and even said that's never been done there before. 80 of our 150 invited guests were coming from the Ottawa/Quebec area (Julia's relatives), and Julia was so excited to show beautiful Sarnia to her family who's never been here.
Then COVID-19 happened and we were forced to postpone everything.
So here we are now, trying to work out a new date for our wedding next year. Unfortunately, Julia's July 4th fireworks wedding doesn't work next year, as July 4th is a Sunday. We've decided to scrap the stag & doe at the Polish Hall, and have the stag on the Duc D'Orleans instead (with a live band and food of course). The wedding will still be on the beach, and the reception at the Gateway Room. For more information, please stay tuned.
