How they met:
Melanie and Michael met about eight years ago at the Alpha Kappa Lambda house at the University of Alabama, Melanie was looking for her friends she came to the party with and ran into Michael and asked for his help. Although he couldn't find her friends, Michael asked her to dance with him instead. They started dating shortly after, and it wasn't until Melanie came to visit Michael in Atlanta for the opener against West Virginia that they officially became "boyfriend and girlfriend". They dated long distance for three years while Melanie was in school, although they saw each other just about every weekend, until Melanie graduated in 2017. They were eager to finally be in the same city together, so that week Melanie moved to Atlanta and moved in with Mike! After a couple months of living in a 800 square foot apartment between the two of them and Archie, Mike bought a home for them! Since then they have been growing and building not only their home but their love for each other everyday. Melanie and Mike are a unique couple they live, play AND work together running their businesses and both remaining to have full time jobs! They truly are the best match for each other. They grew their little family early 2020 with a brother for Archie, Bocephus (Bobo for short). There relationship has really been through the highs and lows of life and they considered you to be a part of what was surrounding them as they built it. Thank you for loving them and being a part of their relationship!

Our wedding will be on Lake Petit inside Big Canoe Resort, we suggest staying inside the Big Canoe Resort at either an Airbnb or a VRBO. Big Canoe is a gated community in the North Georgia mountains with 3,000 residents and 8,000 acres. Big Canoe offers golfing, hiking, fishing, waterfalls, boating and more! Big Canoe has a clubhouse that has a full restaurant and bar, Black Bear Pub. As well as a smaller quick bite restaurant Duffer's on the golf course. If you want anything else we suggest stopping by the Foothills IGA Market grocery store on your way in. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do!
Itinerary:
Friday August 28th: For out of town guests come "Mingle with the Bride and Groom" on the newly built Golf Patio at the clubhouse from 8-10 for a happy hour!
Saturday August 29th: Please plan on arriving to the venue 30-45 minutes early and park at the Big Canoe Chapel, we will have a driver bringing guests back and fourth from the venue all night since parking isn't available at the venue. If you are staying at one of the Houses on the Lake, we will try and accommodate as best as we can. We will provide driver information in the updates section closer to the date so you can contact when you are ready to be picked up.
