Greetings!
Hello friends and family,
Why Sunday, November 8th?
As we were thinking about significant dates in our relationship to commemorate and celebrate our love, it was not difficult to agree on November 8th, as this date signifies overcoming adversity, resiliency and second chances for us. On November 8th, 2017, after several rounds of chemotherapy, Bertha underwent a bone marrow transplant as part of a clinical trial at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago to reboot and restart her immune system and treat an autoimmune illness that was robbing her of health and emotional wellbeing. To the medical team that treated her, the date you receive the transplant is known as your new “birthday.” Throughout this process, we placed our faith in the hands of God, and undoubtedly thanks to His Grace, we came out of this experience stronger (and healthier) than before. None of this would have happened without the love and support of our friends and family. You all played an important role in sustaining our love, so November 8th was just the perfect date to mark yet another milestone in our journey. Since then, Bertha has been in what her doctors call it a “permanent remission,” so every day we wake up is truly a blessing. On our wedding day, not only wish us a happily ever after, but also wish Bertha a happy 3rd birthday!
We are honored you will share in our special day. Your presence is our gift!
We're lucky to already have a home full of everything we need, so please enjoy browsing our Honeyfund wish list, where you can contribute funds to our dream honeymoon! (It’s safe, secure, and easy.) Feel free to contact us if you need more info about how it works.
Thanks for visiting and we can't wait to see you on our big day!

Love in the Time of Covid-19
While we had anticipated a much different kind of celebration, we are now in the midst of a global pandemic and had to rethink and readjust our special day. Your safety is of utmost priority to us. That is why we are working with our venue and vendors to provide a safe and --as much as possible-- a socially distanced wedding celebration that follows CDC recommended guidelines (Thank you, Dr. Fauci!), as well as local public health orders. These safety measures include: a reduced number of guests and guests per table, face mask requirements, passed Hors d'Oeuvres, plated meals, hand-sanitizing stations, signage, and bathroom sanitation. In addition, staff working the event will be wearing masks and gloves at all times, and ensuring guests are following these guidelines. You are allowed to have your mask off only when seated at your table, eating, or sipping on a drink. We understand that you may not yet feel ready to RSVP given the fluidity of the times we are under and/or special circumstances, but we would greatly appreciate you letting us know no later than Oct. 1st by texting us a picture of the back of your RSVP card with your selection(s) at 240-780-1121. Thank you for your love and understanding.
