Hello friends and family,

I drove up to New York in the middle of COVID-19 (with Matt, Khira as my sidekicks) to adopt a horse. I was dead set on a 17-hand giant named Lennie Smalls. Instead, we left with a rescue thoroughbred named Girlies Dream who weaseled her way into my heart.

Girlie went from racing at the track to a kill pen in November 2020. She was rescued by an amazing organization called Second Chance Thoroughbreds Inc (http://secondchancethoroughbreds.org/). I'm currently boarding her at a great little barn called Cherokee Winds Farm in Manassas, VA but now, more than ever before, I'm set on buying land and building a little farm of my own in the DMV for Girlie and I (and a few goats and maybe another horse) to live on.

It's far too expensive to buy and difficult to maintain many of the "horse properties" on the market in this area so.

Instead of the standard large home on lots of acreage, I'm looking to purchase 5 acres or less out right and then build a pole barn with small, built in apartment on the land. I would like to buy the land outright but need your help to do so. I hope you'll consider giving what you can to my dream!

Whether or not you're willing or able to contribute, know that you'll always have a bed to stay in, a horse to hang out with and a space for a garden that's all yours to tend on the property if you'd like it!

You can probably also sucker me into adopting almost anything that needs a barn home.
