We are lucky to have everything we need to be comfortable in our little apartment, but a real Honeymoon would be tough for us to swing on our own. A little more about our plans..

During a slow day at work, a very well-traveled and intuitive nurse gave me a little "personality quiz" in order to determine our dream honeymoon itinerary. The resulting plan was actually pretty great, and we may just stick with it! The trip consists of traveling around Italy for 8 days, and satisfying my love of art, history, and shopping, but also providing Austin with plenty of rest and relaxation to recover from his first year in residency. The best of both worlds!

Currently, our rough itinerary starts with us flying into Rome. Our first day, we will see as many historical sights and classical art as possible: St Peter's, Sistine Chapel, Coliseum, Vatican, etc. My college thesis was on Michelangelo, and it would be great to finally see one of his works in real life! The following day we will make our way to Sorrento, by way of high speed train to Naples and then a ferry to the picturesque seaside town. On the fourth day, we will both enjoy the history and adventure of the ancient ruins of Pompeii and the active volcano Mount Vesuvius. By then, I will have suffered sensory overload from all of the art, architecture, and historical sites, and the next few days will be devoted to Austin's love of beaches and naps. After an exhausting and stressful first year of residency, he will especially appreciate relaxing at the Island of Capri and admiring the Amalfi Coast for a few days before finally flying home.

If anyone has been to the area and has any recommendations or tips, feel free to reach out. Neither of us has been before! If you cannot or do not want to contribute monetarily (we are already asking you to travel to the wedding), rest assured your presence is plenty!
