Greetings!
Hello everyone! As you now know, Jared and I are getting married in December. Originally we were going to go to with a simple courthouse marriage, but decided on having a simple wedding here where I live instead, with a ceremony and dinner with immediate family instead due to time constraints, COVID, and other mitigating factors. We wish we could have a proper reception to invite our close friends to celebrate our union, but unfortunately that will be put on hold until we're in a better position, with the time and means on our side to have a proper reception to celebrate with you all.
In lieu of traditional wedding gifts, we're opting for gift cards or what you feel you comfortable with for a cash donation towards our future together.
Simply put: marrying a Marine who's enlistment is up next summer means we will not be moving in together until next year when Jared gets his next assignment wherever that may be, and any physical gifts would simply be more luggage we would have to send off to wherever it is he is stationed at. (Moving to Hawaii for what would be six months in the middle of a pandemic only to have to move again when restationed is just a bit redundant and silly!)
So any donations and gift cards will be used for us to settle down properly next year and we deeply appreciate any and all that you can give to help us start our new life together!
Please don't feel obliged, or feel you have to give anything at all, especially as we won't be having a full ceremony or a reception to invite you all too. Your well wishes for our new life together mean much more than any materialistic gifts that could be given. Hopefully in the future again, we can have a proper reception to invite you all too, but until then, don't feel you have to gift us anything, simply wish us luck on this next stage of our life.
All our love - Kate and Jared
Wedding Details
More Information:
Jared and I have decided, due to time constraints and planning capabilities and of course COVID, that we will be having a simple wedding ceremony with immediate family, dinner afterwards and then spending a small 'honeymoon' at a hotel nearby. We wish we could have had a proper reception and party to invite everyone too - but it's simply not feasible at this time, despite our best efforts to try and plan something out to include close friends.
As always, you don't need to feel obliged to gift us anything, your well wishes for our new life together are what means the most to us, even if you are not there. Thank you again for understanding, and hopefully in the future we're able to plan a party to celebrate our union together with all of you.

We're 8 days, almost exactly one week away from the wedding! As brief as it will be, and it might not be the dream wedding - the real dream is finally getting married to each other :D We're in the last stages of prep which means busy busy busy checking our list and crossing our x's and dotting our i's. We'll be sure to post more updates as we get closer to the date. Kate would show off her wedding dress, but Jared is going the traditional route of refusing to see it before the day of (wouldn't even look at the veil!)
While we're sad we can't have all our friends and such with us, we'll be sure to post lots of pictures and such, and hopefully once things settle down with the pandemic and we're settled in next year whereever we end up, in a year or so, we can have a proper wedding with our loved ones. Until then! 8 days and counting!
