Patagonia and Kumano Kodō (Japan)

As a couple, we both love nature. We love it not just because of its beauty, but also because of the history it carries, the stories it unfolds, and the challenges it presents. We love it not just because of what it can bring us, but also what it can take away - the worries, the stress, and sometimes, our egoist self. As Ken Burns noted in our commencement speech, "....their sheer majesty may remind you of your own atomic insignificance, but in the inscrutable ways of Nature, you will feel larger and inspirited."

So we think, what better ways to celebrate our love and commitment to each other than long pilgrimage trips in nature where we can be completely off-the-grid, challenge our body and soul, and be fully present with nature, with each other and with ourselves?

We are committed to doing such one-week long pilgrimage trip every other year as a couple (and maybe in the future with kids too!). Our wish list is long - Inca trail, Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua, Manaslu Circuit Trek - just to name a few. But this year, we are starting with either Patagonia or Kumano Kodo in Japan.
