Chris and Amber met on the Jiu Jitsu mat. Chris was a guest instructor at Amber's school and he distinctly remembers walking over to make an adjustment, when she looked up and smiled. With a visceral feeling of excitement and shock, Chris's first thought was, "Woah, she's a good person."
And they haven’t looked back since.
Their first date was mountain biking through Wharton State Forest, in which they spent way too long in the hammock until the sun went down, and rode back-- part lost, part enjoying the journey-- by moonlight.
They spent the first year of their relationship making the 1 hour drive to each other just about every other day.
In September of last year, after a sunrise hike up to the top of Mt. Snow in Vermont, Chris proposed to Amber. Serendipitously, the moment Amber said yes, the clouds parted and the sun shined down on them as they stood at the peak's edge, the only two on the mountain.
What Chris loves most about Amber is her heart: she genuinely loves and cares deeply for the people around her, her superpower being to alleviate the suffering of others.
