  Help us take off! It’s a 14-hour flight from JFK to Tokyo — just enough time to watch three of Kurosawa's films.

• Rail Pass

  Fund our ride across Japan’s world-renowned rail system as we stare pensively across the countryside, whispering haikus in each other’s ears.

• Hotel and Home Stays

  Gift us a night at a beautiful Japanese hotel, traditional ryokan guesthouse, or family-run minshuku!

• Spa Days

  Pamper us with a relaxing day at an onsen, Japan's outdoor bathhouses built above its over 25,000 natural hot springs.

• Cuisine

  From street food stalls to Michelin-starred sushi, Japanese cuisine is an adventure all its own. We would be delighted to be treated to dinner at an omakase, izakaya, or hole-in-the-wall ramen shop.

• Shopping

  We're going to have a hard time not dropping dough on denim and indigo fabrics, and we both are obsessed with ceramics, especially raku. It would also be awesome to own a Japanese chef's knife.
