More Information
(click the words "more information" BELOW to see the full text.) Where to stay: Salinas is closest to the venue and will have fewer AirBnB/hotel options, but will be easiest for travel. . If you're planning to stay in Salinas please feel free to ask Meagan for recommendations based on your needs! If you're flying into the area and have time to explore, Monterey is only about 20 mins from the venue and has so much to see. Carmel and Big Sur are only a short drive south and have some beautiful sites/beaches as well. The weather is usually beautiful in September so if you have an extra day to spend in the area we HIGHLY recommend doing so. Airports: If you're able to find a flight in to the Monterey Airport we highly recommend it! The airport is close to both the venue and many hotels/AirBnBs in Monterey. It's a smaller airport so book as soon as you're able to. San Jose Airport is the second closest airport but about an hour and a half drive north from the venue. You'll have more flight options but will likely need to rent a car for the weekend. We recommend coordinating with others you may know traveling on the same day to make this a little easier. Parking: There will be plenty of parking on site. Uber/Lyft also has easy access to the venue so please consider rideshare if you plan to drink, especially if you live locally! Attire: September in Salinas is usually beautiful but can get chilly as the sun starts to set so bring a few layers. The venue is mostly grass so we recommend for the ladies to wear wedges/block heels if possible. Dress code is semi-formal/garden party vibes. Green is our wedding color and we'd love to see you in it but its absolutely not mandatory. Schedule: The ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm and the cocktail hour starts at 2:30. Please arrive 15 mins early to make way to your seats (parking is about a 5 minute walk up the drive from the ceremony). Early dinner starts at 3:30 with a Mexican buffet, there will be vegetarian options available. Speeches, games, and gathering will follow dinner & last call is at 6:30/7pm. We may also plan to venture out to some local spots in Monterey after the reception - stay tuned! ** Please note there are bees on the property, they will be marked and easy to avoid
