Honeymoon

Ireland - Scotland - England - France - Belgium - Netherlands

TRAVEL ITINERARY OVERVIEW: Starting off in Dublin, Ireland, we look forward to having a tour of the Guinness factory, a peek around Dublin Castle and St. Patrick's Cathedral as well as a walk through Kilmainham Gaol. Next stop is Edinburgh, Scotland! In Scotland our must-sees would be Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle; exploring Dean Village, Old Town/ Grassmarket and the historic Royal Mile. After catching a flight to England we head to Oxford! We want to do a walking tour around the libraries/ colleges/pubs/ and end up at Carfax Tower for a view of the city. Next stop is Bath, where we plan to visit the Roman Baths/ Pultney Bridge and Stonehenge. London calling! We can't be more excited to get to London, England, with their plethora of cultural sites. We're hoping to fit in Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Big Ben, Westminster, Parliament House and Churchill War Rooms. For a slower-paced day, we would like to go through the Tate Modern with Afternoon Tea at The Royal Albert Hall to follow. Working in a day trip to Windsor is also a must! Finally in France, we find ourselves in the city of love, Paris. The long list of wonders makes it easy to fill up the itinerary (The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc De Triomphe, and Palais Garnier to name a few). We also plan to fit in a day trip to Versailles, and a river cruise of the Seine. Up next is Beaune, we are ecstatic to bike the whole Cote d'Beaune. "Garçon, keep the Pinot Noir and Chardonnays coming please!" While already exploring the delights of Burgundy, we decided to make a stop off in the capital city of Dijon! Here we hope to walk the Owl Trail and check out the Halles weekend market. Belgium bound, our first stop is the capital city of Brussels! We want to see the Brussels Pinball Museum, sample the offerings at some micro-breweries and maybe catch a soccer game. There are a few other recommended stops in Belgium, but at this point in the trip, we are leaving room for some spontaneity. Considerations are Bruges (2BE's Beer Wall) and Antwerp (Diamond Museum). Arriving at our final European country, the Netherlands. We are making a stop in Utrecht! Private kayak tours of the canals come highly regarded. The coastal city, The Hague, is our second stop in the Netherlands. We hope to see the Dutch Parliament building, the Peace Palace, and museum Beelden aan Zee. Amsterdam will be our last place on our trip. We look forward to visiting The Van Gogh and STRAAT Museums. Likely at least one leisurely day bike touring around to soak in all the beauty this special city has to offer.
