The date was June 28, 2015. The place was a dark, intimate restaurant. The event was a ramen pop-up. I walked into the kitchen at V. Mertz and there he was — a pair of broad shoulders in a white chef’s coat. When he clumsily tried to feed me takoyaki, I knew. At one point I even said to a friend, ‘I think I’m going to marry that man.’ After work, at a bar downtown, we fell into a conversation that never ended. And we’ve never been parted since that night. After a decade of living, loving and raising a family together — we finally decided to tie the knot! Please join us for a lowkey, joyful reception following our private ceremony in the Loess Hills. We’ll be dancing, singing and celebrating with friends and family at Bad Seed Coffee & Supply on 24th and Harney Streets in Omaha. James and I will be staying in Omaha for the weekend, so join us for coffee, drinks, dinner and karaoke at any point if you can’t make our reception. Honeymoon
A Weekend in Woodstock
In lieu of a traditional honeymoon, we’ll be taking a few days off this autumn to visit our dear friends in Woodstock, IL. As part of the fun we’ll drive into Chicago to enjoy a day of museums, sightseeing and delicious food.
