Argentine Patagonia

We'll start in Buenos Aires, with a few days of relaxation, sightseeing, and a day trip to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. From there, we head to El Chalten, in Argentine Patagonia, where we will spend 5 nights adventuring, hiking, rafting, tasting amazing food, and spending lots of time outside. The highlight of our trip will be 6 nights at Aguas Arriba Lodge, a serene getaway on Lago del Desierto that is accessible only by boat or hike from El Chalten.

Welcome Family and Friends

We opted not to do a traditional wedding registry because we already have most of what we need in our two homes. If something off-registry speaks to you, we'd love whatever unique gift comes to your mind. We've also put together a honeymoon registry--because we're currently dreaming of adventures that can't be wrapped in a box. Adventures that will capture every Patagonia sunrise we'll watch together, every local dish we'll taste, and every unexpected detour we'll take along the way. With love and wanderlust, Nadia & Alex

• Dinner in Buenos Aires

  We're looking forward to a couple of fantastic evenings in Buenos Aires, with dinner and tango in San Telmo, a funky spot in Palermo, or an upscale restaurant in the Recoleta neighborhood.

• Walking Tour of Buenos Aires

  If you've been to Buenos Aires, and have a recommendations for the best walking tour, we'll take it! We're thinking Recoleta Cemetery, La Boca, or a bike or graffiti tour.

• Spa Day in Buenos Aires

  For our first couple of days, we're heading to a lovely hotel in Buenos Aires, where we're hoping to unwind with a spa treatment before seeing the sights!

• Ferry Ride to Colonia del Sacramento

  Just across the Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires sits Colonia del Sacramento, a charming, cobblestone-covered town in Uruguay.

• Day Trip to Colonia del Sacramento

  Day trip adventures in Colonia del Sacramento--lunch, dinner, & walking tour!

• Boutique Shopping and Alfajores in Colonia del Sacramento

  Nadia's hoping to wander along Avenida General Flores and do some shopping, grab a latte, and taste the alfajores.

• Cafe Stops & People Watching

  We're looking forward to lots of wandering, stops at local coffee shops, and people watching in Buenos Aires

• Flights to El Calafate

• Day trip to Perito Moreno Glacier

  While most glaciers in the world retreat, Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the few that has been advancing. Trip to one of the most impressive glaciers in the world--in Los Glaciares National Park.

• Transit from El Calafate to El Chalten

  Get us to our ultimate honeymoon destination!

• Trekking Boots

  We both need a pair before we hit Fitz Roy!

• El Chalten Hiking Trips

  Daily hiking permit + trail fuel for all of our hiking adventures.

• Hiking to Fitz Roy

  Trek to Fitz Roy, the most iconic peak in Patagonia.

• Rio de las Vueltas Rafting Adventure

  Rafting trip on the Rio de los Vueltas. This is dependent on water levels, but includes 10k of Class III rapids and stunning views of Fitz Roy.

• Post-Trekking Biergarten in El Chalten (La Cerveceria)

  We're told this is an El Chalten favorite, so we expect to spend some afternoons there :)

• Dinner in El Chalten

  We're looking forward to trying some of the El Chalten staples, including perhaps Maffia Trattoria, La Tapera, Restaurante Ahonikenk Chalten Fonda Patagonia, or Lito Restoran.

• La Wafleria El Chalten

  We love waffles.

• Transport to/from Aguas Arriba
