You may be asking, why the two ceremonies and what is a humanist wedding? We have chosen to have two wedding ceremonies – the civil one in Guildford and the humanist one down Wimborne way – so that we might share the celebrations not only to suit as many as we can in terms of where and when, but also so that we can have a deeply personal and meaningful celebration while also fulfilling the legal requirements for marrying in England. A humanist wedding is a non-religious celebration that is welcoming and inclusive with a tailored focus on our story and the things that are important to us as a couple. It is conducted by a trained humanist celebrant and can include unique vows, readings, poems, music, and rituals or symbolic gestures.
