Sheraton
Affordable 5 star hotel with great amenities (pool + tennis court + spa). Downside here is that the location is more remote - you will need a taxi to get around. With that said, it is just a 5 min car ride from Leblon (best neighborhood for going out)
Janeiro Hotel
5 star hotel at the Leblon Beach (luxury + location). For those willing to splurge.
Ritz Hotel Leblon
Don't let the name Ritz fool you, this is a 3 star hotel in Leblon. More affordable option at a great location.
More Information
Dress code: formal attire (though no ties are required for men) For all our gringos out there, we am very excited that you are going to visit Rio. With that said, we ask that you exercise caution on your stay there. If you are going to walk around the street, especially at night, you should avoid wearing jewelry and having your phone out. Transportation: Taxis and Ubers. If you are ordering an Uber, order the Uber black (they are incredibly cheap in Brazil. Uber X is so cheap that often drivers won't turn on the aircon, so avoid ordering those) Hotels: Although there are nicer hotels in both Ipanema (ex: Fasano) and Copacabana (ex: the Copacabana Palace, Emiliano and Fairmont), we recommend our guests to stay in Leblon or the part of Ipanema that is closest to Leblon (up until Praça Nossa Senhora da Paz). Copacabana and the part of Ipanema closest to Copacabana (where the Fasano is located for example) have recently had more counts of petty theft.
