Day 1: LAX to Lima, Peru airport Day 2: Lima sightseeing and free time in the Peruvian capital and 'City of the Kings'. Day 3: Fly from Lima - Cusco (Sacred Valley) Incan capital of the world! Richest heritage of any South American city. Also considered the gateway to Machu Picchu. Day 4: Sacred Valley - Cusco. Begin day in Pisaq, famous for local markets and empanadas. Taste the local food at a woman owned and operated empanada workshop. Make empanadas from seven different kinds of flour and enjoy a tasting. Visit a 13th century fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Embark on a sightseeing tour of ancient Cusco visiting Koricancha, Temple of the Sun and most important temple in the Incan Empire. Day 5: Machu Picchu! Travel to ancient town Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Callientes, the Incan Village at the base of Machu Picchu. Towering mountains with village settlements feel the excitement. Arrive at the most famous archaeological site of South America and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu. Enjoy the city above the clouds in a moment we will never forget. See the ruins and speculate how it was built on the mountain top. Day 6: Sacred Valley of Cusco. Tase local food and visit empanada workshop. Make traditional empanadas. Visit Fortress of Sacsayhuaman from 13th Century. Head to Incan capital of Cusco and visit 'Temple of the Sun' the most important temple of the Incan Empire Day 7: Cusco sightseeing: Visit Choco Museum to learn about Peruvian chocolate making processes. Join a trip to Rainbow Mountain to take a rigorous hike through breathtaking views of the Andes. Day 8: Puno and Lake Titicaca - Enjoy a spectacular drive across the Andes with epic mountain views and buffet lunch. Day 9: Lake Titicaca sightseeing - Visit the 'Birthplace of the Sun'. See the floating Yros Islands, where locals live above water. Taquile Island is the next stop to explore weaving and stonework traditions. Last stop, red sand and deep blue waters on Lake Titicaca. Day 10: Leave Puno and fly to Juliaca, then catch another flight to Lima where we rest before departure. Day 11: Lima to LAX
