#WeddingWednesday ep 12

#WeddingWednesday ep 12. Spring inspired lemon drops and DIY mini champagne favors.

Happy Wednesday!  What a great episode we had this week. Our hosts both spent a week out of town and brought some fun ideas inspired by their travels.  Our signature cocktail, a fresh take on the lemon drop, will have you craving spring! And our DIY is a double cost-saving idea.

Both Sara & Caitie spent time out of town last week, and had some fun experiences to share with viewers. Caitie spent a week in Darby, Montana and shared the story of Bandit Brewery (on instagram  @jc,bandit beer). While Sara was in Scottsdale she found herself partying in a western-themed event space.  This made us think about how fun it is to incorporate those things that help define you as a couple into your wedding venues. Like local beer? Find a small brewery with a cool backstory to provide the beer and help publicize for them.  Enjoy country music?  Why not find a venue that reflects that?

Financial Tip: The Money Chat Date Night

As always we’re striving to bring great financial and budgeting advice for a successful wedding, honeymoon, and now, marriage! Did you know that 45% of married couples divorce over financial disputes — yikes! This week Sara recommended the Money Chat Date Night. It’s easy — open a bottle of wine and get to discussing all your important money stuff– income, expenses, debt and assets. Talk about your goals and ways you can make adjustments to reach them. Having a solid plan and checking on it periodically is the key to success in any venture! To make it fun, get out your favorite board game, or queue up a movie to enjoy when the chat is over. Then relish in the feeling of accomplishment. You’re ahead of the game! Read more financial tips on Sara’s Huffington Post blog, here.

Thanks for tuning in this week, we hope you have a great Valentine’s Day and we look forward to sharing some more fun ideas with you in our next broadcast, Wednesday February 17.  Please share our show with your friends (@honeyfund on Periscope).
