We used our Huneyfund to take us to Puerto Rico, Aruba and Bonaire. We never wanted to leave our room at The Dreamcatcher in San Juan, but managed to make it out for some amazing meals and to visit the El Yunque Rainforest. Aruba had the most amazing beaches, and we have quite a story to tell after tumbling down some cliffs at the Natural Pool there. That didn’t stop us from scuba-ing in Bonaire for 6 days, though!

When we were in San Diego I developed complications with my pregnancy at 24 weeks. Long story short, we were meant to travel home two days later bit instead had to stay in America for another 4 weeks before they considered me stable enough to fly home to New Zealand! Everything turned out well and our little boy has now turned 1. A second honeymoon would be absolutely amazing!

Best part of our trip was our surprise souvenir, our Made in Thailand baby! We look forward to taking him to Thailand when he’s a little older!

We had such a fabulous honeymoon in Italy! Three nights in Rome at an adorable B&B near the Vatican, and then eight nights in a remote coastal town on the island of Sardinia. It combined everything we wanted out of a vacation– history, culture, sightseeing, incredible food, as well as relaxing on a beautiful beach or three. Honeyfund made it possible! We still recommend you to everyone we know, and many of our wedding guests still talk about how neat they thought that gift option was.

We went to Maui in the cold of Seattle’s winter a couple years after our wedding. Sadly, right after we got married my father passed away and I got laid off from my job. So having the Honeyfund was invaluable and kept the wonderful feeling of the wedding alive, if only a little bit delayed. We watched as whales breached daily, swam with green sea turtles, snorkeled amongst incredible coral formations and ate pineapple-kissed and macadamia nut delights every day. We could not have done it without our Honeyfund. It renewed our marriage in unspeakable ways! Thank you!!

This past Sunday we celebrated our 6th year anniversary… that means EXACTLY 6 years ago we were on our HONEYFUNDed Honeymoon… We got married in Cambria California and did a road trip up the Highway 1- stopping in Big Sur, Ragged Point, Fort Braggs, San Francisco, etc… our lovely friends and family funded our hotels, train ride, aquarium tickets, etc… It was lovely as we live in another country and were not going to be able to “return” with “wedding gifts” on the plane! We went to the Dominican Republic to an all-inclusive resort! When we got married we were both super young and hardly had enough money to get married, much less a honeymoon. We had to pay for our wedding ourselves, and with only having retail and restaurants jobs that was barely anything. My wife and I went on a tour of Europe! We had never been out of the States before, so this was a huge undertaking. Before setting up the Honeyfund, we planned out all the main cities and number of nights we would be staying. We went to London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Lucerne, Venice, Rome, Florence, and Paris!
For each of the cities, I added different items to the Honeyfund, so people could feel like they were buying actual experiences for us. For example, they could either buy a drink in Rome, a meal in Rome, or a night in Rome (or all three). Along with these standard items, I also added day trips and tours as some of the larger price items.
In the end, we completely sold out of our Honeyfund! We didn’t expect to sell more than half of the items because I purposefully added more items than I thought would be purchased based on our guest count. It turns out a lot of our guests wanted to buy us more than just a single item. Some even bought us all the items for a specific city!
The act of sending Thank You notes made Honeyfund an even better experience. During our honeymoon we made a point of taking pictures with/of each item from our Honeyfund. When we got home, our cards then consisted of a simple “thank you” and a copy of the picture! This really made every one of our guests feel like their gifts were well received and they knew we were thankful.

We ended up going to Gatlinburg TN. It was our mini family (we took our daughter) honeymoon until we can afford the big one. But it was still nice (and expensive lol)! And it worked out for the best because were I was wanting to go was Jamaica and considering I found out I was pregnant shortly after the honeymoon its probably best I didn’t go there and get bit by an infected mosquito. So it all worked out for the best. I got one of my most favorite things in our home which was wax hand molds of us holding hands with our wedding date on it. Absolutely love it! Can’t wait to have one with a lot of alone time surrounded by beautiful scenery

Honey fund and our wonderful friends & family enabled us to backpack through Peru and Ecuador for six weeks. Macchu Picchu! Lake Titicaca! And the highlight of the trip for us: a week in the Galapagos. What a great way to start a marriage.

We had a wonderful visit around Germany and Austria. Honeyfund was such a fun way for family and friends to share memories they had of the area, too! (My aunt loves the Sound of Music movie so she picked out a tour of Salzburg for us!)

Thanks to Honeyfund, my husband and I were able to take the honeymoon of our dreams to Ireland, home of my ancestors! We spent 9 days travelling the whole of southern Ireland on a self-drive tour and absolutely loved every minute of it! Thanks, Honeyfund!
I thought it was a really great idea with so many options and even though none of our guests used it to contribute, I have passed on the word of how easy it made it. We didn’t have much of a honeymoon as we paid for wedding and everything ourselves but we did take a weekend in Galveston so it was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Houston. Would have been nice to do something more but to me now that I’m married to the man I could ever dream of, that’s what’s important to me.

Costa Rica!
We went to the Panama Canal with our honeyfund gifts for 11 nights. We had lots of fun, swam with dolphins, went cave tubing and had a great cruise!
We went to Hawaii on a 15 day cruise. Other than Mexico I’ve never been out of the country. We would love the chance to get away.
We went to South Africa using Honeyfund, where we went on safari near Kruger National Park, boating with the seals near the Cape of Good Hope, and wine touring in Stellenbosch. We could not have asked for a more perfect way to start our marriage!
My husband and I went to the Sandals resort in Negril, Jamaica. It was the most amazing time of our lives!! Our 2 year anniversary is today – wishing we were back there to celebrate.

We went to Punta Cana and stayed 8 days at Breathless Resort and Spa, which was beautiful and adult only! We swam with dolphins, went ziplining, drove ATVs, hiked caves, and met a lot of great people. It was and extraordinary trip and we have Honeyfund to thank!

We had a blast on our honeymoon. We stayed on Topsail Island for two weeks and enjoyed the beach and the sunshine. Honeyfund allowed us to do many things on the trip that we wouldn’t have done normally.

Thanks to Honeyfund, our amazing friends and family helped us make our way to Cancun Mexico. It was 5 fun filled days of amazing scenery, extraordinary cultural experiences, and fantastic food! Isla mujeres was defiantly a highlight but my favorite was majestic Chichen Itza with its mesmerizing Mayan structures. We ended up getting thank you notes for our thank you notes!
We went to Vietnam and Cambodia and had an amazing time!

Living in NYC at the time we had zero space for people to buy us unnecessary things, however well intentioned, so we used honeyfund to show friends and family where their money was taking us…turns out it was an amazing trip throughout various parts of Belize! We traveled to El Jobo Bay, Costa Rica and stayed at the beautiful Dreams Las Mareas resort! We explored Costa Rica by zip lining through the rain forest, cruising around the local towns on ATVs and splashed around in El Jobo Bay and other beaches on jet skies!
