Wedding Tip

Never mail your invitations on a rainy day. You risk smudging or running the address ink.

Did you know that during the toast to the bride and groom, it is considered in poor form for the bride and groom to raise their glasses during the toast to them? The bride and groom remain seated and are not even supposed to drink from their glass during the toast to them. Immediately following the toast to them, the groom rises to thank the best man (or others) for their toast and then proposes a toast to his new wife.

Travel Tip

Keep all of your valuables with you in your carry-on and in your possession at all times. It helps keep the honest people honest.  Always lock passports in your room safe.

Honeymoon Tip

Change your name after the honeymoon, here's why: You'll need a copy of your marriage license as proof for a legal name change -- and most couples don't obtain this document until shortly before the wedding. In the majority of cases, that won't allow time enough to change a name on a passport and other essential travel identification. Plus, changing the name on a plane ticket could incur charges. Without a consistent name on all these documents, the bearer could be inconveniently detained.

Even without an official name change, feel free to sign the honeymoon hotel register as "Mr. and Mrs." with a grand flourish.

Start planning your Honeymoon at least six months from your day of departure.  December weddings may seem far off now, but they are right around the corner.
